Summer, friends and Midnight sun

You know that feeling of endless summer nights by the ocean with your friends? After a mountain hike with views over white sand beaches on Kvaløya and Sommarøy, or after an adventurous RIB-tour around the Tromsø island, this feeling is even better. And remember that the Midnight sun never sets, so if you guys feel like kayaking or conquering new mountains, it's equally magical during the night as it is during the day!

Combine urban nightlife and fresh brewed coffee or beer with crazy nature experiences right outside your door. Tromsø has over a 1000 mountains nearby for all types of skill levels. How many will you guys try and hike? Or maybe you grab a volleyball and spend the day in Telegrafbukta, play frisbee-golf at Charlottenlund, or go street-art hunting downtown? Fish your own dinner under the Midnight sun, rent a bike and explore the island around Tromsø. No matter how you choose to spend your summer in Tromsø, we can guarantee that you will check off your bucketlist.

Only a 1-2 hour drive from Tromsø city you reach Lyngen. The Lyngen Alps welcomes you with spectacular peaks for ski touring, hikes to glaciers, and for the toughest - swimming in crystal clear mountain lakes. If you want to spend several days wandering through rough nature, we recommend walking the world’s northernmost three-country cairn. With a deck of cards and good friends, it is all set to spend quality time in a fisherman's hut, or by a bonfire near the water. Learn more about Lyngen here.

Take the boat from Brensholmen, or drive along the fjord from Tromsø to the fairytale island of Senja and Dyrøy. Along the national tourist road on the second largest island in Norway you will find magical viewpoints. Go for a swim off white sand beaches, or mountain hiking. Follow the coastline and learn more about culture and history, or bring you fishing pole and enjoy the day in the bays. Learn more about Senja here.

About a 3,5 hour drive from Tromsø you will reach the city of Narvik. Bring your climbing gear, rent mountain bikes, go fishing or hiking. You will find activities for all levels, and they can easily be combined with citylife and food experiences from the North. Maybe you want to spend the night in an Arctic Dome in the Narvik mountain to make your time here even more special?
