This tour is conducted by Dyrøy Holiday. The tour starts at Dyrøy Holiday on the island of Dyrøya. We walk to the costal fort “Hagenes” three kilometers on the road built by the Russian prisoners during World War II.

There you can experience remnants of the coastal fort: bunkers, fallow walls, cannon positions and escape tunnels. We will tell the tragic story of the Russian prisoner Alex who tried to escape several times, and how the people of the island Dyrøya experienced the World War II.
