About Tromsø Villmarkssenter

30 years ago, the renowned dog sled racer Tove Sørensen opened her home to guests from all over the world. Since then, she and her family have dedicated their life to educating visitors about Alaskan huskies, dog sledding and the arctic nature through sustainable outdoor activities.

We strive to be inclusive hosts in every regard - everybody who shares our passion is welcome! You can request vegetarian and vegan alternatives for all our programs and most of our activities are great for the whole family. Let your little ones play with our little ones in the puppy training program or take them on a sledding adventure chauffeured safely by one of our experienced guides. Infants between 0-3 are always free of charge and we offer discounts for children, teenagers and students!

Our facilities are also wheelchair accessible and especially the dog sledding ride program is well suited for people with disabilities. However, our walkways can be a bit difficult to maneuver, especially when covered in snow. So make sure to have a helper with you when you come visit! The standard shuttle service requires you to enter the bus on your own, but we can arrange for specialized transportation upon request. Please contact us if you are planning to visit, we would love to tailor-make a smooth and barrier free experience for you!

On our programs you will not only experience everything we love about our home, but discover your very own inner connection to the Arctic. Whether you let us teach you how to drive a sled, escape all stress in a kayak under the midnight sun or let a four-legged hiking buddy show you their favorite trails – Tromsø Villmarkssenter is your home in the wilderness!
