Midnight Sun Adventure by RiB - Tromsø Friluftsenter

Date: Wednesday 22 may 2019 - Saturday 10 Aug 2019 Show map

In a Rib boat we will drive to where we can see the idyllic little island Gåsvær that holds a little church out in the open sea. From here the view toward north is undisturbed and we will see the sun that never sets… The Midnight Sun.

Harbor seals are often seen popping their heads up from the water and if we are lucky, we might also see the small harbor porpoises. Shags, the white-tailed eagle and the Golden eagle is a common sight in our area as well as puffins, guillemots, theists, and European storm petrels.

On the way back from Gåsvær we will stop at our lovely place called Risvika. Risvika is today the homeplace of the family Risvik that for generations has had a smaller farm here, fishing was also a big part of their life.
We will visit our lavvu (a modern Sami shelter), where we will serve you some hot drinks. The warmth from the bonfire will bring you back in time and give you a glimpse of how the Sami people used to live their lives.
As a treat you can roast your own marshmallow on the bonfire.
An unforgettable experience!
