Guided Tour to Hella

The tour starts in Tromsø city center where we will be picked up by bus and taken on a scenic drive to Hella. This popular recreational area, situated a good half an hour bus ride away from the city, hosts a tiny village of old timber houses straight from the past of downtown Tromsø. In fact, the houses were moved from the city centre to their current spot in the 1960s.

Our guide will take you on a walk around the area, telling stories about the past and present. Walking there feels like a light stroll back in time. After a lunch in the traditional resthouse (and former brewery) Hellastua, you can continue your journey back in time and marvel at the ancient rock carvings: art made by hunters and fishermen from 4000 to 7000 years ago.

You can even try to experience the same inspiration that they had back then by grabbing a fishing rod yourself and try your fishing luck. Hella is one of the best fishing spots in the area, thanks to the strong ocean current that attracts coalfish, cod and other species.
