Join our guided activities to get out of town and find a bit of local wilderness. Be it Northern Lights chasing, a road trip along the fjords or a snowshoeing hike we guarantee small informal groups and friendly guides, as well as souvenir photos and optional warmsuits. Most of our tours include a warm meal, warm drinks and snacks. Take drinking water with you – we suggest resusable containers that can be filled for free with Tromsø’s crystal clear tap water. "Green" in the company’s name stands for green colour of the Aurora, but also for nature and ecology. We avoid single use plastics and cater for vegetarians and vegans.
Our Northern Lights chases take you where the clear skies is to be expected, between the coast and all the way inland – often to Finland, whose border is 150km from Tromsø. Our guides are passionate individuals who have found the Northern Lights for hundreds of visitors already and will help you photograph Aurora. They are trained to read the local weather and to find the best viewing spots. They also like to avoid crowds for a more personal nature experience. We offer a minivan chase «Fellowship of Light» or a minibuss chase «Aurora in Winter Wonderland». If you’d like a private tour that can be arranged too.
Our scenic drive along the coast «Discover the Fjords of Kvaløya» is available all year round, with local snacks and lunch included. The tour visits local islands, fishing villages, mountain valleys, fjords and sea coast, and we often see reindeer on our route. We stop at scenic spots to explore and take in the views. The tour takes 6 hours and you will be back in good time before most evening activities.
If you’d like to try «Guided snowshoeing» we offer you an easy hike, in wild areas of the Kvaløya Island 30 min drive from the city, where no previous experience is required. The hike takes about 3 hours and is followed by a warm lunch in one of the local villages. We provide snowshoes that you can put on top of your winter shoes, as well as hiking poles and optional snowsuits.
If you want to experience the Midnight Sun we’d like to invite you to an evening scenic drive along the fjords, followed by a campfire where you can roast sausages and marshmallows. The campfire spot is carefully chosen to have an open view to the north where, provided clear skies, we can watch the Sun at midnight above the horizon.
