A customized Northern Lights tour with overnight stay to maximize the chance to see the Aurora Borealis.

General information

This tour is conducted by Arctic Trip by Roy Sætre.

Northern lights chase by minibus with an experienced, local guide, Roy. We will drive through steep mountains and fjords to find clear skies and a nice location, where we can enjoy landscapes while waiting for the Lady Aurora. You can sit on a reindeerskin around campfire listening stories, barbequeing and tasting some local specialities. And the main of all, just enjoying staying outdoors and meeting new people.

Photographing will be in focus during the trip. Our guide, Roy, has over ten years experience with Northern Lights guiding and will share of his knowledge and tips. He is happy to help you with your camera as well. In addition to traditional pictures, we have equipment to take timelapsevideo, 360 pictures and 4k video of Northern Lights, if the conditions allow us to.

Please bring: Passport in case we need to cross the border to Finland, warm clothes and woolen socks are also recommended.

About Arctic Trip

Arctic Trip is a small family company providing northern lights all-inclusive (outdoor activities, icefishing, snowshoeing, skiing, sleeping in a tent or a transparent cabin, sightseeing, photographing) tours in Troms area.


One to several days sightseeing tours with main focus on photographing are also possible. In summertime we do kayakfishing and hiking trips. We are focusing on small groups up to 12 person.



Company owner Roy has lived all his life in Troms, and it has always been important for him to be close to nature. His passion to the northern lights is easy to feel. He has been guiding since 2007, with excellent reviews. His wife Reetta has graduated as a nature guide from Finland, and she is also working in Arctic Trip company. We often invite our guests to visit our home. On our trips you can get to know the local culture and lifestyle.



We prepare local, homemade food on our tours, and use local ingredients when we can. If you prefer vegetarian food, just let us know.
