24-Hour Northern Lights and Whale Watching Cruise – Double Cabin

Spend 24 hours at sea aboard MV Quest on an overnight Arctic cruise from Tromsø, combining the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights with whale watching in the fjords of Northern Norway. Enjoy the comfort of a private cabin with sea views, meals served on board and the opportunity to experience the Arctic landscape by both night and day.

Day 1 – An evening beneath the Arctic sky

Your adventure begins in the heart of Tromsø, where you will be welcomed aboard MV Quest. Settle into your private cabin with sea views and a private bathroom, and meet the expedition team who will accompany you throughout the journey.

As the vessel leaves the harbour, the lights of Tromsø gradually fade into the distance, and the Arctic evening opens up around you. A three-course dinner is served on board, while the Panorama Lounge offers a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the views.

Your guide will introduce you to the stories and science behind the Northern Lights, helping you understand this fascinating natural phenomenon. As darkness falls, you can head out onto the open deck to watch the Arctic night sky, with the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights above the surrounding fjords.

If the Northern Lights appear while you are asleep, the crew will wake you so you have the opportunity to step outside and see them.

Day 2 – Whale watching in an Arctic fjord

Wake up in a remote Arctic fjord, surrounded by the waters where whales gather during the winter feeding season. From the breakfast table, your cabin window or the open decks, you can watch the surrounding landscape and look for wildlife.

With a little luck, you may spot orcas or humpback whales in the fjord. Spending the night at sea allows you to begin the morning already in the whale watching area, with more time to observe the wildlife and enjoy the scenery from different viewing areas on board.

After a morning of whale watching, lunch is served on board. Your guide will also share interesting facts about the whales and dolphins found in the region.

Throughout the voyage, the expedition team will help capture moments from the experience, with photographs shared digitally within 48 hours.

As MV Quest makes its way back to Tromsø, there is time to relax in the Panorama Lounge, enjoy the views and reflect on your Arctic adventure before returning to shore.

Food and drink: A three-course dinner, breakfast and lunch, as well as coffee, tea and snacks, are included. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options can be accommodated, along with other dietary requirements and food allergies, provided these are communicated when booking.

Please bring:
• Passport or valid ID
• Warm clothing suitable for Arctic weather conditions
• Waterproof and windproof outer layers
• Comfortable indoor clothing for the cabin and lounge
• Seasickness tablets if you are prone to seasickness
• Camera, tripod and binoculars (optional)

Meeting time and place: 6:30 PM (18:30) at the Destination Tromsø Booking Point, inside Tromsø Havn Prostneset Terminal. You will receive detailed check-in information one week before departure.

Duration: 24 hours, including an overnight stay aboard MV Quest.

Important information:
• The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and sightings cannot be guaranteed. Whale sightings are also dependent on wildlife activity and natural conditions.
• This tour is not suitable for wheelchair users or guests with significantly reduced mobility. The vessel has multiple steps and uneven deck surfaces.
• Please inform the operator of any food allergies or dietary requirements when booking.
• Pets are not permitted.
• For the safety and comfort of all guests, staff reserve the right to refuse participation if a guest's condition or behaviour presents a safety risk, including intoxication or unsafe conduct.

If you do not see the Northern Lights or whales:

Although wildlife sightings and natural phenomena cannot be guaranteed, the operator offers guests another opportunity if the cruise ends without Northern Lights or whale sightings:

• No Northern Lights: You can join one of the operator's Northern Lights tours free of charge.
• No whale sightings: You can join the operator's daytime whale watching tour free of charge.
• No Northern Lights and no whale sightings: You can join another departure aboard MV Quest free of charge.
