Urban experiences meets raw Arctic nature
Arctic All-In-One Night: Dog Sledding, Snowmobiling & Northern Lights at Camp Tamok
Experience the best of Tromsø’s Arctic winter in one unforgettable evening at Camp Tamok! This unique evening adventure combines a taste of dog sledding with a traditional Norwegian dinner, and a Northern Lights chase by snowmobile.
About us
Your evening adventure combo starts with a transfer by bus from Tromsø city center to Camp Tamok, nestled in the heart of the Tamok Valley. Upon arrival, your experienced guide will greet you and provide thermal suits, boots, and gloves to ensure you stay warm and comfortable in the Arctic winter night.
Fully equipped, you will meet our mushers and the huskies, receive instructions on how to drive the sled, and then head out on a guided dog sledding experience through the snowy wilderness. After your sledding adventure, return to Camp Tamok and warm up in our cozy wilderness lounge, where you will be served a traditional two-course dinner. Before heading out on your next adventure, you will receive a short lecture from our professional guide about the science of the Northern Lights, local conditions, and how to best observe this natural phenomenon. After the theory, you will once again get equipped to head out on snowmobilesm, to try and find the Northern Lights! While cruising the tracks, we will make several stops to scout and, if they appear, take photographs of the Northern Lights. You will share a snowmobile with a partner and get the chance to take turns driving under the night sky. Upon return to camp, you will change out of your gear and relax on the bus ride back to Tromsø.
