About us

As one of the pioneers in Tromsø for chasing the northern lights, we are proud to celebrate our 20-year anniversary in 2024.

This also means we have extensive experience and deep knowledge of the local area. We want you to experience true Northern Norwegian hospitality, charm, and humor—making your trip far more than just the northern lights tour you had imagined. We create memories from the heart and promise to do everything we can to make your northern lights dream come true—with effort that goes above and beyond.

We’ll drive wherever we need to in pursuit of clear skies. Sometimes this takes us all the way to Finland, so remember to dress warmly. In the minibus, we have thermal suits that you can wear over your own warm clothes—don’t hesitate to use them!

We’ll meet you outside the Scandic Ishavshotel in the city center, just a short walk from most hotels and only 10 minutes from the airport.
Ahead of each tour, we use our local knowledge to carefully study weather changes throughout the day. This allows us to make a solid plan and choose a location with the best chance for clear skies and northern lights.
We also collaborate with the best guides in the city to ensure we succeed—you should both see and feel that we go above and beyond to show you nature’s miracle: the Northern Lights.

The adventure begins with a short film about the northern lights, covering both science and mythology to help you better understand what you’re about to witness.

If we’re lucky and the weather is good at our home base, we’ll take you to our coastal farm. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to visit a historic farm that holds generations of coastal memories, where people survived through fishing and farming.
Our story started here in 1880.
At the farm, we have a lavvu (Sami tent) to shelter us from the weather. While we wait for the lights, we’ll share our rich family history, with roots in Sami, Kven, and good old-fashioned “city boy” ancestry from when Tromsø officially became a city in 1794.

If we need to go elsewhere, we still ensure a cozy experience—complete with a fire, seating, hot coffee, tea, chocolate, and the world’s best chocolate cake.

During the evening, we’ll take professional photos of you under the northern lights using our camera. These will be available for download from our Flickr account.
We’ll also assist with your own camera or phone settings to help you capture your own magical shots.

Sometimes, the weather forecast in Tromsø can look really bad—but fear not. We constantly monitor the weather and base our decision on the most up-to-date forecast available just before we pick you up.

Important:
If we believe the chances of finding clear skies are too small, we reserve the right to offer you a choice before the tour begins:
- You may choose to leave the tour and receive a full refund,
- Or you may choose to join the tour and take the chance.

This tour is not available for children under 5 years due to cold conditions and timing.

Please note: If you choose to join the tour, there will be no refund if we unfortunately don’t succeed in seeing the northern lights.

In any case, we will do our absolute best—and remember:
"We want you to see the Northern Lights just as much as you want to see them!"

A friendly reminder: Make sure your travel insurance is in order before your trip, due to unpredictable Arctic conditions.
