Blue Vision – Salmon Visitor Centre

Blue Vision is Gratanglaks’s visitor centre for salmon and modern aquaculture. Located on the second floor of Kystens Hus in Tromsø city centre, it offers free admission.

About us

Explore interactive displays, films, images and games to learn how salmon is produced in Norway. You can also step up to the edge of a fish farming pen through a virtual reality experience and watch live footage from Gratanglaks’s sea-based farms.

The centre has two main areas: an interactive exhibition with games and VR headsets, and a control room showing live footage from the farms. Guides are available to answer questions throughout your visit.

At Blue Vision, you can learn about:

• The salmon life cycle
• Fish feed and salmon production
• The importance of aquaculture to coastal communities
• New technology in the industry
• The challenges facing the industry and efforts to develop more sustainable solutions
• The wider economic impact of aquaculture
• The preparations required before a salmon farm can be established

Visits and guided tours

No advance booking is required. You can explore the exhibition at your own pace or ask one of the guides for more information.

Guided tours are also available for groups and can be tailored to cover particular topics in greater depth. Group visits can be arranged outside the regular opening hours.
