Daytime Snowmobile Excursion into the Wilderness

This tour is operated by North Experience.

You will get to explore a natural area outside Tromsø, with great views of the Arctic snow-covered mountains.

Upon arrival at camp, you will get dressed in warm winter gear before the adventure begins with safety instructions and a practical demonstration. It is then time to follow the 20 km snowmobile trail leading into the snow-covered mountains. We will stop during the trip to take photographs and play in the snow.

You will drive in pairs, with one driver and one passenger per snowmobile, and there will be plenty of opportunities to switch places during the two-hour snowmobiling adventure.

After driving back down the trail and parking the snowmobiles, a hot meal will be served. After relaxing and warming up, it is time to head back to Tromsø or stay overnight in our Aurora huts.

Please bring: Woollen underwear and your valid driving licence if you wish to drive a snowmobile

Level of difficulty: Easy

Duration: With transfer included, the total duration is 7.5 hours, including an 85-minute transfer each way. Without transfer, the total duration is 4 hours. You will spend approximately 1.5–2 hours on the snowmobile

Start time and place:

If you book with transfer included:
• Meeting time and place: 9:00 AM (09:00) at Magic Ice Bar, Kaigata 4, 9008 Tromsø.
• Arrival at Welcome Inn Hotel Lyngskroa in Oteren: 10:25 AM (10:25).
• Departure from Oteren: 3:15 PM (15:15).
• Return to Tromsø: approximately 4:45 PM (16:45).

If you book without transfer:
• Meeting time and place: 10:20 AM (10:20) at Nordlysveien 404, 9046 Oteren, where Welcome Inn Hotel Lyngskroa used to be.

Good to know:
• To drive a snowmobile, you must bring a valid driving licence.
• Children aged 12–15 years, with a minimum height of 140 cm, can participate as passengers.
• The duration of the snowmobile tour may be adjusted due to weather, snow and trail conditions.
