Dog Sledding from Tromsø
2990 NOK
per person
Drive your own dog sled at Breivikeidet, surrounded by Arctic scenery with views of the fjord and the Lyngen Alps.
General information
This tour is operated by Best Arctic.
After an approximately 50-minute coach journey from Tromsø, you will arrive at Breivikeidet, at the foot of the Lyngen Alps. Here, you will travel by dog sled through snow-covered woodland and open winter landscapes, with views of the fjord and surrounding mountains.
Before setting off, you will receive a safety briefing and instructions on how to handle the sled. Two guests share each sled. One person drives the dog team while the other sits on the sled, and you will switch positions approximately halfway through the ride.
The dog sledding lasts around 60 minutes. The guides lead the group, usually supervising three to four guest sleds each. If you are travelling alone, you may be paired with another guest or one of the guides.
After the sled ride, you will head indoors to warm up by the fireplace. Hot soup with bread and hot drinks will be served while the guides share stories about the dogs and life at the kennel.
