This tour is conducted by Active North. Come dogsledding on wheels with us along the trails in Skibotn!

General information

Our happy and friendly Alaskan Husky pack are ready to give you an experience to remember. You will drive a Troll cart, with two people per cart (the guide drives a cart with space for two passengers).

The trip lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. We will have several breaks along the way, where you can help the guide give water to the dogs. There will also be time for cuddles and photos.

The lunch will be served according to your chosen trip.

Program for the trip:
09:00 Departure Tromsø, meeting 08:45 at Scandic Ishavshotel
Approx. 10:45 arrive in Skibotn
Group 1 dogsledding on wheels first and lunch afterwards
Group 2 gets lunch first and dog sledding on wheels afterwards
15:00 Departure Skibotn and return to Tromsø
Approx. 16:45 Back in Tromsø

Included: English-speaking guide, lunch, hot drinks (coffee and tea), water, guided trip in Skibotn Valley, overall suits, boots, mittens, and hats
Please bring: Wool underwear
Number of participants: Min. 2 – Max. 20. The groups will drive 10 and 10 per trip.

We recommend wearing warm undergarments on cold days – wool or fleece works best. Dog sledding on wheels is mildly physically challenging.

About Activenorth

Activenorth´s people are a family of five. We live in Skibotn, where we have built our own houseas well as the dog kennel, on Tomas' family farm.


It all began with one dog named Grace in 2007, now we have around 30 dogs. We have been driving dogs with tourists since 2008, but this year we are making a new beginning in our own backyard. During the years of dogmushing we have raced the world's longest 8-dog race, 9 times; we have participated in races across Finland, Sweden and even on the border to Russia. The fantastic dogs have never failed to go, during blizzards, 45 degrees below, bad trails and whiteouts. The dogs are our family's passion, and the kids are always included when we are racing.
