Come dogsledding on wheels with us along the trails in Skibotn!

General information

This tour is operated by Activenorth.

Our happy and friendly Alaskan husky pack is ready to give you an experience to remember. You will drive a troll cart, with two people per cart (the guide drives a cart with space for two passengers).

The trip lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. We will have several breaks along the way, where you can help the guide give water to the dogs. There will also be time for cuddles and photos.

Lunch is served according to your chosen tour.

Programme for the tour:
- 9 AM (09:00) Departure from Tromsø. Meeting time at 8:45 AM (08:45) outside Scandic Ishavshotel
- Approx. 10:45 AM (10:45) arrival in Skibotn
- Group 1 goes dogsledding on wheels first and has lunch afterwards
- Group 2 has lunch first and goes dogsledding on wheels afterwards
- 3 PM (15:00) Departure from Skibotn and return to Tromsø
- Approx. 4:45 PM (16:45) arrival back in Tromsø

Included: English-speaking guide, lunch, hot drinks (coffee and tea), water, guided tour in Skibotn Valley, winter suit, boots, mittens and hat
Please bring: Woollen base layers
Number of participants: Min. 2 – Max. 20. The groups will drive 10 participants per tour.

Departure time and meeting point: Outside Scandic Ishavshotel at 8:45 AM (08:45). Departure at 9 AM (09:00)

We recommend wearing warm base layers on cold days – wool or fleece works best. Dogsledding on wheels is mildly physically demanding.

About Activenorth

Activenorth’s people are a family of five. We live in Skibotn, where we have built our own house, as well as the dog kennel, on Tomas’ family farm.


It all began with one dog named Grace in 2007, and today we have around 30 dogs. We have been running dog sledding tours for tourists since 2008, but this year we are starting a new chapter in our own backyard.



Over the years, we have competed in the world’s longest eight-dog race nine times. We have taken part in races across Finland, Sweden and along the border with Russia.



These incredible dogs have never let us down – not during blizzards, in temperatures as low as -45°C, on difficult trails or in whiteout conditions.



The dogs are our family’s passion, and the children are always included when we race.
