Join us on a full-day journey from Tromsø to Vannøya, a remote Arctic island shaped by the sea, fishing traditions, and generations of people living close to nature. This is more than a sightseeing tour — it is an opportunity to experience a part of Northern Norway through the eyes of locals who grew up here.

Our journey begins in Tromsø and continues north through the coastal landscapes of Kvaløya and Ringvassøya before we board the ferry to Vannøya. The ferry crossing is an experience in itself, offering wide views of fjords, mountains, and the scattered islands that make up this remarkable part of Arctic Norway.

Vannøya lies on the edge of the Norwegian Sea, where dramatic mountains rise directly from the coastline and small communities remain closely connected to the ocean. Life here has always been shaped by fishing, changing weather, and the natural rhythms of the Arctic. Throughout the day, your guide shares stories about growing up on the island, local traditions, and the close relationship between the people and the surrounding landscape.

Along the way, we make several scenic stops to experience the island’s diverse scenery. We visit a traditional fishing village, explore quiet coastal areas, and learn about life in one of Norway’s northern island communities. Depending on the season and a bit of luck, we may also encounter wildlife such as sea eagles, seabirds, or reindeer.

Weather and conditions permitting, we take an easy hike to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Barents Sea. The hike is suitable for most participants and rewards us with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, coastline, and open ocean.

Later in the day, we gather at a white-sand Arctic beach to enjoy a warm meal with hot drinks while taking in the sounds of the sea and the vast coastal scenery that surrounds us.

Professional photos from the tour are included at no extra cost and will be shared with you digitally after the experience.

We return to Tromsø in the evening and drop you off at the same central location where the tour began.
