About us

This tour is conducted by MS Polstjerna. MS Polstjerna could tackle the Arctic waters; it was the strongest of all hunting vessels and a safe workspace. In addition, it carried both crew and catch safely home.

Visit us to feel like an Arctic sailor while we tell of the life onboard, hunting on the ice and the long history of Arctic hunting related to Tromsø.

This tour also includes a visit to the exhibition Snowhow where we, like polar explorers Nansen and Amundsen learn from indigenous people how to best survive the cold.

Please observe that the stairs inside the ship are very steep. Due to some high thresholds and dim lighting in parts of the ship, we recommend visitors with vision impairments to be accompanied.
