Introduction to Cross-Country Skiing & Husky Visit

Cross-country skiing is a fantastic way to explore the outdoors, and you will feel a real sense of achievement as you master the tracks. No previous experience is required, making this tour suitable for almost everyone.

The tour departs from Tromsø city centre, from where you will head off on a scenic 50-minute bus journey to our camp in Breivikeidet. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your guide and provided with a thermal suit, boots, a hat, mittens and all necessary equipment, including skis and poles.

Before heading out, we will teach you some basic skills: how to move on skis, how to put your skis on, how to fall safely and how to get back up again. Once you have learned the basics, you will head out on a cross-country skiing adventure through the beautiful Arctic landscape together with your guide.

Marvel at the mountains of the Lyngen Alps and the sea as you make your way along the snowy trails. After the tour, you are invited into our lavvu (traditional Sami tent), where you can warm up by the campfire with hot drinks and cake.

Our basecamp is also the starting point for our dog sledding tours, so you will have the opportunity to meet around 80 friendly huskies who love attention and cuddles.

After some time to relax and warm up, you will be driven back to Tromsø with great memories of your cross-country skiing adventure.

Good to know:

• The minimum age for this tour is 7 years.

• When booking for a child, please inform us of their age so that our guides can prepare accordingly.

• Please let us know about any physical conditions we should be aware of when preparing for the tour.

Included: Return bus transfer from Tromsø, English-speaking guide/instructor, ski equipment (skis, poles and boots), thermal suit, mittens and hat, hot drinks and cake, opportunity to visit the dog yard and meet approximately 80 huskies

Level of difficulty: Medium. This activity is suitable for both beginners and intermediate skiers. No previous cross-country skiing experience is required. Please let us know about any physical conditions we should be aware of when preparing for the tour.
