Think of having your own podcast about Tromsø City Centre, the Northern Lights, Life in Fjordgård, etc.!
Our credo is that our guides should give the user an entertaining, educational, and, not least, inspiring experience: Our goal is that your zest for life will have increased during the hike—nothing less! We do not use AI; everything is made, written, and recorded by humans.
With our background as professional scriptwriters and actors—who have performed critically acclaimed theatre productions around the world—we are passionate about maintaining very high quality in communication, language, and content.
We also spend a lot of time conducting thorough historical research and creating vivid stories that have both a human aspect and interesting factual content.
You can choose to walk the routes on-site or opt for remote playback from the hotel room, the car, your favorite chair in the living room, or anywhere you want.
Enjoy!
Our story:
AudioGuide NorwayStory is part of Johnsen & Johnsen Production, which was founded as a pure performing arts company with professional actors and playwrights. It has toured the world with critically acclaimed theatre productions of high quality. We have also created audiovisual art happenings in collaboration with two different museums in Tromsø since 2014, which have so far reached over 4,000 museum guests. One of them, an audiovisual exhibition about the author Cora Sandel, is still ongoing at Perspektivet Museum and will last until 2026.
Our play, "A Remarkable Person" (written by Pernille Dahl Johnsen), received brilliant 5-star reviews during the world's largest theatre festival in Edinburgh (2016) and at England's largest theatre festival in Brighton the following year. It was selected to represent Europe at the worldwide Women Playwrights International in Chile (2018).
In 2019, one of the UK's most important theatre publishers, Oberon Books, published the script for "A Remarkable Person" in The Oberon Anthology of Contemporary Norwegian Plays in London. The anthology is a collection of what the publisher considers to be the six "most interesting" plays in Norwegian contemporary drama, and Pernille's play is one of them.
Facilitation for the disabled:
We provide facilitation for the disabled in the sense that all guides can be played remotely—i.e., from home, from the car, or anywhere one chooses—and are therefore independent of the listener’s agility. The audio texts are also available in written form for the hearing impaired.
If you wish to experience the routes on-site, the location's own accessibility measures for the disabled will apply—but most of our guides take place on the street, where they should be easily accessible to everyone.
Family-friendly:
Our routes are currently only suitable for young people and adults.
Sustainability:
Since our products are digital, we don’t leave negative environmental footprints in the form of waste, the consumption of scarce resources, etc., and are therefore environmentally friendly.
