Events at Ludwig Mack Brygghus

Ludwig Mack Brygghus offers unique venues for events, celebrations and gatherings in the heart of Tromsø. Our historic premises provide a setting that combines tradition, atmosphere and authentic Tromsø heritage.

We offer everything from the traditional pub experience at Ølhallen, Tromsø’s oldest pub, to more distinguished and exclusive event venues. Our historic spaces include Ølhallen, Direksjonen with Haakonsbar and Kontoret, Ludwig Mack Stuene, Kjeller 4 and the Microbrewery.

Guided tour:

Join us for an engaging journey through Mack’s long and fascinating brewing history.

The tour starts at our beer shop, Kjeller 5, before continuing into the original brewery cellars dating back to 1877. Here, you’ll learn about the history of Mack and how it has developed through generations. You will also gain an insight into Mack Brewery today – a brewery that is still family-owned. The tour concludes at our Microbrewery, where brewing and rock take centre stage.

Beer tasting:

Discover more about Mack and the brewery’s history through an informative tasting at the historic Ølhallen. During the tasting, our beer host will present a selection of beers from Mack’s range, while introducing the group to the history of Mack Brewery and Ølhallen.

We offer two different tastings:

Classic tasting (Note: Changed from Iconic)

A tasting featuring three selected beers from Mack. Suitable for larger groups.

Mack mini tasting

A tasting featuring five different beers from Mack.

Both tastings last approximately 15 minutes.

Beer course:

Our beer course offers a more in-depth tasting experience for groups wishing to gain a deeper understanding of the world of beer.

Together with our beer host, the group will explore different types of beer, their distinctive characteristics and the factors that influence flavour, aroma and character. During the course, the group will be introduced to five different beers and learn more about the ingredients, the brewing process and how different beer styles develop their unique qualities.

What sets the different types of beer apart? How do the ingredients and brewing methods influence the flavour of the finished beer? These questions, and much more, will be explored during our beer course.
