Discover the rich history of Mack Ølbryggeri through a daily guided tour at the old brewery in Tromsø. After relocating its main brewery following 135 years of operation, these historic premises now offer a unique opportunity to explore both the past and present of this iconic northern Norwegian brand.

During the tour, you will gain insight into the ingredients and brewing process that make Mack beer so distinctive. The experience begins with a 15-minute film taking you back to the 1800s, explaining how the booming fishing industry helped lay the foundation for the brewery. Afterwards, your guide will take you inside the historic brewery building to learn more about Mack’s fascinating history and traditions.

One tasting from Mack is, of course, included in the tour.

Your visit ends at the Mack beer shop, where you may also encounter locals shopping for homebrewing equipment and supplies. Brewing beer has long traditions in Norway and has been popular since the Viking Age. Skål!

Included: A 15-minute film about the founding of Mack Brewery, guided tour of the microbrewery, and 1 beer tasting (or Arctic water as a non-alcoholic alternative)
