Morning Kayak from Tromsø

This tour is operated by Sommarøy Adventure.

Travel by Arctic Route bus from Tromsø to Sommarøy, a popular destination for kayaking and nature experiences. Upon arrival at the activity centre, your guide will help you with the equipment and provide a safety briefing before you start paddling.

Together, you will explore quiet bays, white sandy beaches and small islands that can only be reached by kayak or boat. Along the way, look out for sea eagles and other local wildlife, with Sommarøy’s beautiful coastal scenery as your backdrop.

Midway through the tour, you will go ashore for a break. Here, your guide will share stories about the island’s fishing heritage, everyday life and wildlife.

The tour is suitable for both beginners and experienced paddlers. Stable tandem kayaks provide a safe and comfortable experience, while experienced participants may use single kayaks.

The kayaking tour ends back at the activity centre. Afterwards, you will have some time to explore Sommarøy on your own before taking the Arctic Route bus back to Tromsø city centre.

Good to know:

• The minimum age to participate is 10 years.
• This tour is not wheelchair accessible.
• No previous kayaking experience is required.
• All tours are led by certified local instructors and adapted to ensure the safety and comfort of participants.
• Please inform the guides of any medical conditions or other relevant information before the tour.
• This tour is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled or cancelled for safety reasons. A full refund will be provided if the tour is cancelled.

Please bring: Warm base layers to wear under the dry suit, a warm fleece or jumper, a hat, gloves and a water bottle. A camera or GoPro is optional.
