This tour is operated by Tromsø Lapland.

Located in a beautiful valley nestled between Norwegian mountains, 50 minutes from Tromsø city centre, our camp allows you to get to know our reindeer, feed them, pet them and take wonderful pictures.

Our Sami guides will take you through centuries of Indigenous history while you enjoy a traditional taste of Bidos, a reindeer stew with potatoes and carrots (vegan option available). You will also hear stories from their culture, from reindeer herding and courtship customs to folktales and anecdotes from their families.

Be curious and ready to ask questions – they can’t wait to share their culture with you.

• 50 minutes of scenic transfer to the camp and back to the city
• Feeding our reindeer

• A 30-minute introduction to Sami culture by a Sami guide

We Sámi are the indigenous people of Scandinavia and have been living and working with reindeers for centuries.


We have countless generations of knowledge and experience of the fascinating and charming creature that has helped us survive life in this cold and extreme nature of the north. The reindeer is the true hero of the Arctic.



We would like to invite you to visit our Sámi camp and join us for a genuine and family-friendly reindeer sledding safari with an amazing view of the famous Lyngen Alp mountains.
