Glide through the unmatched beauty of the Norwegian winter wonderland on a traditional Sami sled raid, meet our herd of 120 Reindeer and join our Sami guides in a cozy talk about their culture, traditions and customs!

General information

This tour is operated by Tromsø Lapland.

Less than one hour from Tromsø city centre, our camp will take your breath away. Located in a valley surrounded by snow-covered mountain peaks, with the Lyngen Alps as a backdrop, our Sámi guides will take you on a 20-minute sled ride before you enter the reindeer enclosure to meet and feed our herd, and make memories to last a lifetime.

After a traditional taste of bidos (vegan and gluten-free options available), they will share their culture and stories with you. Come curious – they can’t wait to hear your questions!

‍Please note:

• The sled ride is subject to good snow conditions, and we may sometimes need to adjust the duration of this activity. If the weather does not allow us to run the sled ride at all, we will offer you a partial refund. The rest of the tour will take place as normal.

• The weight limit for the sled ride is 120 kg.

• Uneven terrain may be challenging for people with impaired mobility. Please contact us for further information.

• 50-minute scenic transfer to camp and back to the city
• Feeding our reindeer
• 20-minute sled ride
• Traditional lunch with bidos, bread, margarine, biscuits, hot chocolate, coffee and tea. Vegan and gluten-free options are available.
• 30-minute introduction to Sámi culture with a Sámi guide
• Snowsuits, boot covers, hats and mittens
