Senja by Heart

Torsken sommer

“Senja by Heart” is a family business proudly offering experiences, local food and accommodation in the idyllic fishing village of Torsken in Senja.

General information

For several generations, the Wilsgård family has operated a business here based on fisheries and in recent times aquaculture, too. As the activity has increased, this has become the largest workplace in the seafood industry in the whole area. The Wilsgård brothers wanted to provide additional facilities and started by buying a discontinued camping site and transforming it into a gym for their employees and fellow village residents. They have now purchased several old and historic buildings in Torsken. With a heart for the village, the Wilsgård brothers want to create a vibrant fishing village.

Senja Fjordcamp has five newly refurbished cabins with sea views. These two-bedroom cabins accommodate four guests and feature a fully equipped kitchen and modern bathroom with toilet and shower. Bed linen and towels are included. Adjacent to the cabins is a marina and sites for camper vans with electrical connection, access to fresh water and a waste station. The modern service building features a kitchenette and separate showers and toilets. The reception and restaurant are also located here.

The restaurant, which is also newly refurbished, serves dishes based on local ingredients of the finest quality accompanied by wonderful views. Naturally, our menu features salmon and white fish from Wilsgård here in Torsken.

Torsken Brygge has five modern double rooms upstairs. The communal lounge overlooking the fjord is the perfect place to enjoy a good cup of coffee in a relaxed and rustic atmosphere. The large function room on the ground floor is used for events.

TorskenSenteret is the old school in Torsken, which Wilsgård has renovated and modernised. The ground floor features six small single rooms with private bathrooms, one of which is disability-friendly. There is a common room featuring a lounge and fully equipped kitchen. A penthouse apartment accommodating four guests is situated on the top floor. This apartment features two lounges, two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, modern bathroom and a large balcony perfect for enjoying the view.

Torsken is an excellent base for exploring Senja. Popular local activities include excellent mountain hikes, exploring the area by boat and fishing, while in the winter and spring the local mountains are ideal for ski touring. We arrange several tours that guests may join. What about a guided tour of the historic church dating from 1784 or the local salmon processing plant? By cooperating with other providers in Senja, we can offer our guests a range of other activities. Best of all, after a long day of activities, you can look forward to an enjoyable evening including delicious food and drinks in the restaurant.

We have charging for electric cars.
