A Snowmobile excursion into the wilderness - daytime tour

General information

You’ll be part of a small group and get to explore a scenic natural area outside Tromsø, with stunning views of the Arctic, snow-covered mountains.

Upon arrival at Basecamp, we’ll dress in warm winter gear and begin the adventure with safety instructions and a practical demonstration. Once everything is ready, it’s time to follow our 20 km snowmobile trail that leads up into the snow-covered mountains.

We’ll stop along the way to take photos and enjoy the snow. You will share a snowmobile with one other person – one driving and one as a passenger – with plenty of opportunities to switch during the two-hour ride.

After driving back down the trail and parking the snowmobiles, we’ll serve you a hot meal in a traditional Northern Norwegian setting around the open fire in a reindeer herder’s tent. After relaxing and warming up, it’s time to return to Tromsø, or spend the night in one of our Aurora Huts.

Please note: The duration of the snowmobile tour may be adjusted depending on weather, snow, and trail conditions. To drive a snowmobile, you must hold a valid driver’s licence.

Age limit: Minimum 12 years old. Children aged 12–15 must also be at least 140 cm tall to participate.

Included: Winter overall, boots, mittens and hat, helmet, hot meal and warm drinks, experienced guides (Norwegian and English speaking), transfer from Tromsø (if selected when booking)
Please bring: Wool underwear and your drivers license

If you book transfer from Tromsø:
Meeting time and place: 9AM (09:00) besides Magic Ice Bar Tromsø, Kaigata 4, 9008 Tromsø

Departure from North Experience Basecamp at 16:10, arrival in Tromsø at approximately 17:25

If you choose the no-transfer option:
Meeting time and place: Hatteng at 10:15, at North Experience Basecamp (Storfjord Municipality).

Duration: 3.5 hours + transfer from Tromsø if you book this option (75 min each way). You will spend approximately 2 hours on the snowmobile
