This tour is operatedd by Sommarøy Adventure.
Start your adventure with a convenient pick-up from Tromsø city centre, where you will enjoy a scenic 50-minute bus ride to Sommarøy, taking in the stunning Arctic landscapes along the way.
After a safety briefing and kayaking introduction at our activity centre, your guide will lead you to the best spot based on the weather conditions. As you paddle silently through the clear waters, keep an eye out for seals, sea eagles, otters and playful porpoises, often drawn to the kayaks by curiosity.
Surrounded by incredible views, your guide will share fascinating stories about Sommarøy’s fishing heritage and everyday life, along with insights into the region’s wildlife. Midway through the tour, we will stop at a secluded beach for a peaceful break.
Whether you are new to kayaking or a seasoned paddler, our stable double kayaks, or single kayaks for experienced paddlers, ensure a comfortable experience.
The tour ends back at the activity centre, after a kayaking distance of approximately 5 km, where your bus transfer back to Tromsø awaits.
Good to know:
• Minimum age to participate is 10 years.
• This tour is not accessible for wheelchair users.
• No prior kayaking experience is needed.
• All tours are guided by certified local instructors and adjusted to ensure safety and comfort.
• Please let our guides know about any medical conditions or other relevant information before the tour.
• This tour is weather-dependent and may need to be rescheduled or cancelled for safety reasons. A full refund will be offered if the tour is cancelled.
Included: Transfer by Arctic Route bus, certified local guide with experience kayaking in Arctic conditions, sea kayak and all necessary gear, dry suit if needed, paddle mittens, neoprene boots and paddle jacket
Please bring: Warm base layers to wear underneath the dry suit, warm fleece or jumper, beanie and gloves, camera/GoPro optional and water bottle
