Urban experiences meets raw Arctic nature
Summit tour to the island of Håja at Sommarøy
Cross the open sea by boat and hike to the summit of Håja, the icon mountain island that inspired the design of the Arctic Cathedral in Tromsø.
About us
Please meet up at our Activity Center on Sommarøy 15 minutes before departure time.
This tour takes you by boat from Sommarøy to the island of Håja, rising dramatically from the ocean. After a 30-minute boat ride through wild coastal landscapes, we anchor and start the hike. The trail begins with a steep climb, then gets easier as we move higher. In about 1.5 hours, we reach the summit at 486 meters with stunning 360 degree views of fjords, sea, and mountains. The top is especially magical under the midnight sun. After enjoying the views, we hike back down and cruise back while looking out for sea eagles and marine life. If the full hike feels too challenging, you can still stop along the way and enjoy the amazing scenery.
