Join us for a morning dog sledding tour at Breivikeidet, with views of the majestic Lyngen Alps.

General information

This tour is conducted by Best Arctic.

Our dog sledding tour takes place just a 45-minute drive from Tromsø, at the gateway to the Lyngen Alps. This stunning area offers breathtaking views of majestic mountain peaks rising up to 1400 metres, alongside beautiful fjord landscapes.

The tour includes 60–75 minutes of dog sledding through exciting terrain with tree-lined trails and open landscapes. Before the tour begins, you will receive instructions on how to handle the sled. It is easier than many expect, as the dogs are eager to run and follow the team ahead.

During the tour, you will be the musher and work together with the dogs as part of the team, while your travel partner sits on the sled. Halfway through the tour, you will switch positions. Our guides lead groups of three to four guest teams each. If you are travelling alone, you may be paired with another guest or one of our guides.

After the dog sledding adventure, we head indoors to warm up by the fireplace and enjoy a traditional lunch with moose or reindeer stew and hot drinks. Breivikeidet is home to a large moose population, and we will gladly share stories about the area, the Alaskan Huskies and the daily life of our four-legged friends.

In this area, we also offer reindeer and Sámi experiences, as well as our Lyngen Snowmobile Safari.

Alternative dog sledding product in Tamok Valley: Husky Safari in Tamok Valley – 7 hours.
