Escape to a winter wonderland at Lauklines on Kvaløya. This hidden gem offers a calm and relaxing retreat nestled by a scenic fjord. During your getaway, you’ll enjoy a combination of leisure time and guided activities into the wilderness.

General information

Your journey begins with a transfer from Tromsø, complete with a convenient stop for shopping to ensure you have everything you need for a cozy stay.

The activities are exclusively for your group, creating an intimate and personalized atmosphere. This package is designed for flexibility where we adapt to the weather and run the activities when we have the best conditions during your stay.

We suggest 4 days and 2 activities or a week and 3 activities. You can choose between the activities further down on this page. Contact us for a customized offer tailored to your group and its requirements.

Accommodation

As you arrive at Lauklines, you’ll be greeted by high-standard cabins offering stunning views and tranquility.

The cabins are 100 m² over 2 floors and are built using “cog and notched” timber, insulated and renovated 2022/2023. All have AC and electric floor heating at ground floor, which makes it cosy and comfortable even on the coldest winter days.

Fully equipped kitchen, living room, bathroom with shower/wc and 1 bedroom with medium bed (120 cm width). By the entrance you’ll find a storage and drying room. First floor have 2 large bedrooms (3 beds and 2 beds, 90 cm width) and bathroom with shower/wc.

Enjoy the views of the majestic mountains, fjords, crystal-clear water, white sandy beaches and small fishing villages during our arctic road trip. Let us share our favourite places with you and show you the most beautiful spots while providing history and local knowledge along the way.

Ice fishing trip
Ice fishing trip in a scenic area on the island of Kvaløya offers the chance to experience the tranquility of frozen landscapes and the thrill of fishing.

Discover Tromsø
Discover the best of Tromsø in a day, enjoy the views from the cable car, immerse yourself in culture at museums, indulge in a shopping spree, and savor the flavors of local cuisine at a charming restaurant.

Shore fishing trip
Our shore fishing trip will take you to the pristine shorelines of the island Kvaløya. The trip promises not only a day of exciting angling but also a delightful delicious lunch amidst the stunning backdrop of nature.

Northern Lights trip
We believe that everyone should witness the Northern Lights at least once in a lifetime. Join our Northern Lights team in pristine arctic nature on an adventure not soon to be forgotten. This trip is only available when booking minimum 5 days stay.

Snowshoe trip
Embark on a magical snowshoe adventure through a winter wonderland tailored to your desires. Our customized snowshoe trips promise an unforgettable journey into the pristine landscapes of Kvaløya, Norway’s fifth largest island.

About Explore the Arctic

We are a small adventure company with 18 years of experience in organising outdoor activities on Kvaløya and in the Tromsø area. 


Throughout the years we have developed and improved the trips, increasingly focusing on high quality and personal service for our guests. Our experience and knowledge of the area is your guarantee for a successful arctic experience.



During the trips our guests will learn about the area, its history and wildlife. We provide quality clothing and all kind of equipment needed. On all trips, we put effort into bringing our guests to good locations for photography. Pictures taken by us during the trips are always included.



Since we started, we have focused on bringing something back to our small community. We involve local people and small local businesses in what we do. Being in nature is our passion. Photographing wildlife and spectacular natural phenomena is our driving force. Without our beautiful nature, we would not do what we do, and we like to share the importance of taking care of the surroundings during our trips.
