About us

Andresens Vaabenforretning is Tromsø’s oldest shop. Established in 1870, it is also one of Scandinavia’s oldest outdoor shops.

When the business first opened, gunsmithing and equipment for whaling and seal hunting formed the basis of its operations. More than 150 years later, the shop’s main focus is hunting, fishing and outdoor activities. We still continue to supply equipment to vessels heading out on hunting expeditions.

Our knowledgeable staff are happy to help you choose the right products. We aim to provide helpful service and a positive shopping experience, whether you visit us in the shop or purchase from our online store.

The shop offers a broad selection of equipment and clothing, including locally sourced and sustainable products.

Winter tourism has also become an important part of the business. Both visitors and local residents will find wool products, warm clothing and a selection of Norwegian and Sami brands suitable for Northern Norwegian conditions.
