Try dog sledding and snowmobiling, meet reindeer and visit the husky kennel during an activity-filled day at Camp Tamok.

General information

This tour is operated by Destination Tromsø.

Travel from Tromsø to Camp Tamok, located around 90 minutes from the city centre. On arrival, you will receive a thermal suit, boots and mittens before being divided into smaller groups.

Meet the sled dogs and learn about their training before joining a short dog sled ride driven by a professional musher. You will then take part in a short guided snowmobile ride, sharing a snowmobile with another guest and taking turns driving.

The day also includes a visit to the reindeer and activities around the campfire. The groups rotate between the different activities, ensuring everyone can take part. The exact order and timing may vary depending on the weather, operational conditions and the group’s pace.

Food and drinks: A meal and drinks are included. The food may contain eggs, milk and gluten. Please provide details of any food allergies or dietary requirements when booking. An additional fee of NOK 150 may apply if these are not provided in advance.

Please bring: Clothing suitable for the weather, preferably worn in layers, a scarf or buff and a valid category B driving licence if you wish to drive a snowmobile

Important information:

• Snowmobile drivers must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid category B driving licence.
• Drivers and passengers on the snowmobile must be at least 130 cm tall.
• Pregnant guests cannot participate.
• The recommended maximum weight is 120 kg per person.
• The tour is not suitable for wheelchair users.
• Pets are not permitted.
• Please inform the provider in advance of any medical conditions or physical limitations that may affect your participation.
• The guides reserve the right to refuse participation if a guest’s health, physical condition or behaviour presents a safety risk.
• Activities may be changed or cancelled if weather or surface conditions make them unsafe.
