Arctic Route that brings you between Tromsø and the Lyngen Alps.
General information
The Tromsø – Lyngen / Lyngen – Tromsø route gives you the opportunity to experience the spectacular Lyngen peninsula, with its wide range of activities and accommodation options. The connection operates from December to March.
This route is also suitable for day trips that can be combined with evening activities in Tromsø.
Along the Lyngen route, you can stop off and try a variety of Arctic experiences, such as dog sledding, ice fishing, snowmobile safaris, ice climbing or Sami cultural experiences. You can also visit the world’s northernmost whisky distillery, Aurora Spirit Distillery.
Relax on board comfortable coaches with Wi-Fi, USB and charging points, toilet facilities and experienced, service-minded English-speaking drivers.
Unfortunately, animals are not allowed on board, with the exception of guide dogs.
Important information
Arctic Route takes you by bus from Tromsø city centre to Breivikeidet ferry quay. From Breivikeidet, you take the ferry to Svensby in the Lyngen Alps. The ferry is free for Arctic Route passengers and takes around 25 minutes.
Please note that further transport from Svensby to the north of Lyngen or to Lyngseidet is not included in the Arctic Route ticket.
The Arctic Route uses its iconic red buses, marked with the Arctic Route logo. Look for the red Arctic Route buses.
Luggage
Each passenger may bring one piece of easy-to-manage hand luggage, which must fit under the seat or in the overhead rack.
Each passenger may also bring one larger item of luggage. The total height + length + width must not exceed 200 cm, and the maximum weight is 23 kg.
