General information
Travel between Tromsø and the Lyngen Alps with Arctic Route. The daily winter connection operates from 1 December to 31 March and is suitable for both day trips and longer stays in Lyngen.
The route also makes it possible to combine a daytime visit to Lyngen with evening activities in Tromsø.
Along the way, you can combine your journey with a range of Arctic experiences, including dog sledding, ice fishing, snowmobile safaris, ice climbing and Sami cultural experiences.
Travel in comfortable coaches with free Wi-Fi, USB and charging points, a toilet on board and English-speaking drivers.
Important information:
Arctic Route takes you by bus from Tromsø city centre to Breivikeidet ferry quay. From Breivikeidet, you take the ferry across to Svensby in the Lyngen Alps. The ferry crossing is included in your Arctic Route ticket and takes approximately 25 minutes.
Please note that onward transport from Svensby to Lyngseidet or further north in Lyngen is not included in the Arctic Route ticket.
The Arctic Route buses are red and marked with the Arctic Route logo.
Animals are not permitted on board, with the exception of guide dogs.
Food and drink:
Food is not included. You are welcome to bring your own food on the bus.
Luggage:
Each passenger may bring one piece of hand luggage that is easy to manage and fits under the seat or in the overhead rack.
Each passenger may also bring one larger piece of luggage. The total height + length + width must not exceed 200 cm, and the maximum weight is 23 kg.
Minimum age: All ages. Child seats are available and must be arranged with Best Arctic in advance.

• Tromsø: 8:45 AM (08:45)
• Breivikeidet ferry quay: 9:50 AM (09:50)
From Breivikeidet, continue by ferry to Svensby in the Lyngen Alps. The ferry crossing takes approximately 25 minutes.
Lyngen – Tromsø:
• Breivikeidet: 10 AM (10:00)
• Tromsø Lapland: 10:05 AM (10:05)
• Tromsø: 11 AM (11:00)
