Arctic snowshoeing experience

This tour is conducted by Målselv Fjellandsby. Walk along scenic trails, surrounded by snow-covered forests and open terrain, while breathing in the crisp Arctic air. With expert guides, a cozy break with warm drinks and snacks, and stunning morning views, this is the perfect way to experience the Arctic wilderness.

Begin your morning adventure at our welcome center at 9 AM (09:00), where our guides provide a short introduction to the equipment and basic snowshoeing techniques. Once ready, we head out onto scenic trails at a relaxed pace, making this tour ideal for all skill levels. Midway, we pause at a scenic resting spot to enjoy a warm drink and a light snack while taking in the peaceful Arctic surroundings. If conditions allow, we may reach a traditional wooden shelter with a bonfire, where guests who choose the add-on can grill sausages for an authentic Nordic experience.

The return journey is just as breathtaking. As the morning light brightens the snow-covered landscape, you’ll experience the stillness and beauty of the Arctic at its finest. The crisp air, untouched snow, and peaceful atmosphere make this the perfect way to start your day. Whether you’re looking for adventure or simply a quiet escape into nature, this snowshoeing tour offers an unforgettable Arctic experience.

Transport from Tromsø to the Welcome Centre at Målselv Fjellandsby is not included.

Alpine Ski Resort

Målselv Fjellandsby features varied and family-friendly slopes suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers. The resort offers a total of 13 km of slopes across 14 different runs, providing something for everyone.

The ski season runs from early December until the end of April, offering several months of true winter enjoyment in beautiful surroundings.

We offer rental of alpine ski equipment, snowboard gear, and helmets.

Experiences and Activities

In recent years, we have strengthened our range of activities and experiences. Our goal is for both locals and visitors to enjoy activities and experience the true “mountain feeling” here. We have great respect for nature and the local community, and we focus on quality over quantity when it comes to the experiences we offer.

Winter Activities:

Exclusive dogsledding tours in quiet mountain and forest landscapes, with a maximum of 6 guests

Snowshoe tours adapted to different skill levels, in small groups

Northern Lights experiences in dark areas with minimal light pollution

Sámi experiences, including cultural storytelling and traditions, hosted by the Oskal family

Cross-country skiing tours, with the option to rent all necessary equipment

The activities are available both as individual experiences and as combined packages, and can be tailored for groups as well as individual guests.

Restaurant & Ski Café

Located in the heart of the mountains, overlooking the open landscape, the restaurant and ski café at Målselv Mountain Village is a natural meeting place for skiers, hikers, and visitors.

We serve food designed to replenish your energy after a day outdoors. The menu features classic Northern Norwegian dishes, simple lunch favorites, and sweet baked goods, accompanied by a selection of hot and cold drinks.

The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy, with large windows that bring the mountains inside and offer beautiful views of the ski slopes and hiking areas. Whether you stop by for a quick break, a warm meal, or simply a cup of coffee by the fireplace, this is a place meant to restore both body and mind.

The restaurant and ski café are well suited for families, groups of friends, and couples, and also serve as a gathering point for activities and events in the mountain village.
