General information

Please note: This tour starts in Skjervøy. Transport to and from Skjervøy is not included.

This tour is operated by Explore 70 Degrees.

Experience the Arctic winter landscape on a guided evening snowshoe walk in Skjervøy, north of Tromsø. Snowshoes help you move across deep snow without sinking, making it easier to explore the wintry surroundings.

Before setting out, the guide will introduce you to the snowshoes and poles and explain how to use them. The walk begins near the centre of Skjervøy and continues into quieter surroundings, away from the lights and buildings.

Along the way, you can breathe in the fresh Arctic air, enjoy the winter scenery and listen to local stories shared by your guide. If Hurtigruten’s schedule coincides with the tour, you may also see the ship entering the harbour.

When the sky is clear and conditions are favourable, there may be an opportunity to see the Northern Lights. If the aurora does not appear, you can still experience the Arctic night sky, stars and peaceful winter landscape. Northern Lights sightings cannot be guaranteed.

The guide will adapt the activity to the group and ensure that the snowshoe walk is conducted safely. Warm drinks and sweet snacks are served during the experience.
