Snowshoeing in the mountains near the Lyngen Alps
The tour begins with a scenic drive of approximately 60 minutes from Tromsø. Along the way, you will travel through a winter landscape of mountains and valleys before arriving in the Lyngen area.
On arrival, you will be provided with snowshoes and walking poles, and your guide will show you how to use the equipment. Snowshoeing is easy to learn, and no previous experience is required.
You will then walk through the snow-covered landscape and into the mountains near the Lyngen Alps. If the weather allows, you can enjoy views of the surrounding fjords and mountains. There will be several stops along the way for photos.
Sámi culture and local history
During the tour, your local guide will tell you about the Arctic environment and share stories and facts about Sámi culture and history, with a particular focus on the Coastal Sámi in Norway.
You will learn more about who the Sámi are, where they live, and how nature and the landscape have shaped the Sámi way of life.
Snacks and hot drinks are served during the tour.

Departure time and meeting point: The tour departs at 9:30 AM (09:30) from the Best Arctic booking office at Sjøgata 9, Tromsø. Please meet at 9:15 AM (09:15).
Important information: This tour is not suitable for guests with heart problems, reduced mobility or other physical limitations that may make it difficult to walk in snowy and uneven terrain. Participants must be able to walk without assistance and be in reasonably good physical condition.
