Join an ice fishing tour from Tromsø and try your luck on a frozen lake in beautiful Arctic surroundings overlooking the Lyngen Alps.

Ice fishing from Tromsø with views of the Lyngen Alps
The tour begins with a scenic minibus drive of approximately 60 minutes from Tromsø. Along the way, you will travel through a landscape of mountains and wild Arctic nature.
On arrival, you will be provided with an ice auger, bait and ice-fishing equipment before heading out onto the frozen lake. Snowshoes are available if you would like to use them. Together with your guide, you will drill holes in the ice and prepare the fishing rods before settling down on reindeer skins and waiting for the fish to bite.
The lake is home to Arctic char and trout. You will fish for approximately two hours, and you may keep any fish you catch.
If the weather allows, the guide will light a fire on the ice and share stories and quizzes with the group. Hot drinks, snacks and a simple hot lunch are served while you wait for the fish to bite.
A catch cannot be guaranteed, but the tour still offers a memorable winter experience surrounded by Arctic nature. Dress warmly to make the most of your time on the ice.
