Blue Vision – An Exhibition About Norwegian Salmon

About us

The exhibition is owned by Gratanglaks and is dedicated to sharing knowledge about Norwegian fisheries and aquaculture. Through interactive screens and live images streamed directly from our facilities, visitors gain unique insight into how salmon farming works today.

Blue Vision is located on the second floor of Kystens Hus, in the heart of Tromsø city centre. Blue Vision also offers tailored educational programmes for groups, which can be booked in advance.

• The history and importance of aquaculture to coastal communities

• The challenges facing the industry and efforts to develop more sustainable solutions

Visits and guided tours

We welcome both drop-in visitors and groups booked in advance. You can explore the exhibition at your own pace or ask one of our guides for more information. Guided tours are also available for groups and can be tailored to cover topics in greater depth. Group visits can be arranged outside regular opening hours and must be booked in advance. Our opening hours are:

• Monday–Friday: 10 AM–4 PM (10:00–16:00)
• Saturday: 11 AM–3 PM (11:00–15:00)
• Sunday: Closed

Location and parking

You will find Blue Vision on the second floor of Kystens Hus in Tromsø city centre. Parking is available beside Kystens Hus and in an underground car park approximately a four-minute walk away. A bus drop-off and pick-up point and a taxi rank are located outside the building. The Hurtigruten terminal and express boat quay are approximately a five-minute walk away.

Accessibility

Blue Vision is wheelchair accessible. A lift provides access to the second floor, and an accessible toilet is located nearby.

Want to experience it first-hand? For a closer look at salmon production, we offer a free guided tour of our facilities in Gratangen, approximately a three-hour drive from Tromsø. The visit may include Astafjord Smolt, Astafjord Slakteri and the company’s sea-based fish farms. Contact us via our website for more information.
