Coastal Northern Lights Trip – Private Trip
12995 NOK
per group
A night under the dancing Northern Lights, surrounded by pristine Arctic nature, is a magical experience that everyone should have at least once in their life.
General information
This tour is operated by Explore the Arctic.
We run our Northern Lights trip on Kvaløya, and the trip is only conducted when there is a fair chance of seeing the Northern Lights in this area. Because of this, the trip can only be booked as part of a winter activity package or at short notice, once we have an overview of the weather and see that conditions are favourable.
A private Northern Lights trip
The trip is private and exclusive to your group, offering an intimate and personal atmosphere.
A night under the dancing Northern Lights, surrounded by pristine Arctic nature, is a magical experience that everyone should have at least once in their life. Few other experiences make us feel as connected to nature as being immersed in majestic landscapes on a winter night, warmed by a campfire, far from the city lights and noise.
About the trip
The experience begins with a specially made documentary about the Northern Lights in our heated lounge, where you will learn about the history of the Northern Lights – from myth to science. Before heading out, you will be provided with clothing to keep you warm and comfortable throughout the trip.
We will then travel to one of our favourite locations on Kvaløya, surrounded by majestic mountains, fjords, crystal-clear waters and white sandy beaches.
On some nights, the Northern Lights appear right away, while on others, we may need to be patient. While we wait, we will light a campfire and enjoy a dinner featuring local specialities, accompanied by hot drinks.
Throughout the trip, you will also learn about the area’s history and wildlife.
Northern Lights photography
We will take professional photos and are happy to share them with you after the trip. If you bring your own camera, we will also teach you how to capture the best possible photos.
A tripod is essential when photographing the Northern Lights. You do not need to bring your own, as you can borrow one from us.

Over the years, we have developed and improved our tours, with an increasing focus on quality and personal service. Our experience and knowledge of the area help ensure memorable Arctic experiences.
During our tours, guests learn about the area, its history and wildlife. We provide high-quality clothing and all the necessary equipment. We also make an effort to visit good locations for photography, and any photos we take during the tour are included.
Since the beginning, we have focused on giving something back to our small community by involving local people and small businesses in what we do.
Being in nature is our passion, while photographing wildlife and spectacular natural phenomena is what drives us. Without this beautiful natural environment, we would not be able to do what we do. During our tours, we therefore share the importance of respecting and protecting our surroundings.
