Evening Reindeer Sledding and Sámi Dinner

This tour is operated by Tromsø Arctic Reindeer.

Travel from Tromsø to a reindeer camp surrounded by Arctic nature. After a 25-minute bus journey, you will meet a herd of around 300 reindeer and have the opportunity to feed them.

The experience includes a 15–20-minute reindeer sledding ride around the camp. Afterwards, warm up inside a candlelit gamme, a traditional Sámi hut, where a three-course dinner and hot drinks will be served.

During the evening, your Sámi hosts will share stories about Sámi culture, history and life as a reindeer herder. You will also experience joik, a traditional form of Sámi singing.

You can spend time outdoors looking for the Northern Lights if the sky is clear. However, the aurora is a natural phenomenon, and sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Food and drinks: A three-course dinner is included. The meal consists of cold-smoked salmon, followed by bidos, a traditional Sámi reindeer stew served with Sámi bread, and a chocolate and blueberry dessert. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate are also included. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free alternatives are available. Please provide details of any food allergies or dietary requirements when booking.

Please bring: At least two layers of warm clothing, a warm hat, mittens and winter boots
