Winter sailing is something else!

General information

Out at sea, the darkness of the Arctic winter reveals a whole new world. Days glow like endless sunrises and sunsets, and at night the Northern Lights steal the show. From the deck of a sailboat, you’re right in the middle of it all.

We set sail from Tromsø and leave the city lights behind. If the Aurora appears, you’ll experience it as it’s meant to be seen: no city noise, no light pollution—just the sound of nature, the crisp air, and the sky above.

Whether the sky is cloudy and colourful or alive with dancing Auroras, this is winter sailing: real, raw, and unforgettable.

Join us on a real winter adventure!

When you step on board, the first thing we do is a safety briefing. Then we cast off and head out into the wilderness! We will sail around Tromsø island, and along the way we will hunt for the northern lights.

This is a hands-on trip. You’re welcome to take part in sailing: trim the sails, take the helm, or simply lean back and enjoy. Want to try your fishing luck? Drop a line — you might catch your own dinner!

On this trip we sail a Bavaria 50 foot boat.

Included: Sailboat with skipper with local knowledge, environmentally friendly and sustainable adventure, plenty of time outdoors with raw and honest nature experiences, coffee, tea and hot chocolate, light warm meal, drinking water, all boat-related costs (diesel, propane, harbour fees), personal safety equipment (Helly Hansen inflatable lifejacket)

Please bring: Warm clothes, sturdy shoes, hat, and mittens
