We’ll sail through a living Arctic cultural and natural museum, where you can choose to take part in sailing and manoeuvring the boat or simply sit back and enjoy the magnificent scenery.ry.

General information

The journey begins at 9:30 AM at Kaldfjord Marina, where we’ll meet for a short introduction and safety briefing. We’ll then set sail, weather permitting, and navigate through the deep fjord, passing old farmsteads, historic settlements and towering mountains rising dramatically from the water. Along the way, we’ll share stories about the people who have lived along this fjord for generations and how Norway’s coastal communities have thrived in harmony with nature.

As we reach the mouth of the fjord, where the landscape transitions from fjords and mountains to the open ocean and islands, we’ll head to one of our favourite fishing spots – a place used by generations before us. Here, we’ll try our luck at catching fresh fish for a warm lunch on board.

With our catch secured, we’ll begin our journey back. As dusk settles over the fjord, we’ll serve steaming fish soup in our cosy onboard lounge. We’ll enjoy a delicious meal together, share stories and, if we’re lucky, witness the Northern Lights dancing across the sky.

Ready for an unforgettable Arctic sailing adventure? Join us on a one-of-a-kind journey through Tromsø’s most beautiful fjord!

About Veidemann

Veidemann.eco: Tromsø’s smallest sailing company.

Veidemann.eco is a travel company specialising in tailored sailing tours in Kaldfjord, one of the most pristine areas close to Tromsø. We combine experiences in Arctic nature with a strong connection to local history and culture.

As Tromsø’s smallest sailing company, operating just one 36-foot boat, we offer an intimate and personal experience. With an experienced skipper and small groups, you can actively take part in sailing and manoeuvring the boat – or simply sit back and enjoy the journey.

The boat is a fast and comfortable Scandinavian classic from the 1990s.

Our tours take you through a living Arctic landscape rich in culture and nature. Along the way, we sail past historic farms, old settlements and spectacular mountains rising above the deep fjord. Guests can experience seasonal wildlife and try their luck fishing at traditional fishing spots that have been used for generations.

The boat has a warm and cosy cabin, making the journey comfortable even on the coldest days. It also has modern facilities, including a toilet on board. Our tours are suitable for the whole family, including young children aged 0–3.

We prepare fresh seafood on board and serve warm lunches – a great way to round off a day at sea. Vegetarian and vegan options are available, and the menu can be adapted to accommodate different dietary requirements.

In winter, we operate three scheduled tours per week but are also happy to accommodate private requests outside these times. During the summer season, we primarily offer private tours tailored to our guests’ preferences. Our aim is to provide authentic and sustainable experiences that give guests a deeper understanding of life in the Arctic.

We create lasting memories and invite you to let the wind guide you through the surroundings of Kaldfjord. Explore our day tours in the product overview below.
