About us

Finnkroken Holiday Cottages is located in the small coastal community of Finnkroken on the southern part of Reinøya. The peaceful location is well suited to guests looking for a relaxing stay close to the sea and nature, while still being within reach of Tromsø.

The six cottages vary in size and offer accommodation for couples, families and larger groups. The cottages include living areas and kitchen facilities, and several have multiple bedrooms and outdoor spaces overlooking the surrounding landscape. Finnkroken also has a guest house with facilities for meetings, courses and private gatherings.

The waters around Grøtsundet and Langsundet offer good opportunities for sea fishing. Boats are available for hire for fishing trips, family outings and visits to the nearby islands. Life jackets and GPS-enabled echo sounders are included with the rental boats.

Marked walking trails begin near the cottages, and the area has a rich variety of birdlife and coastal wildlife. Guests may see sea eagles, porpoises, otters and other species, although wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. During winter, there are opportunities for skiing and sledging close to the cottages.

The location away from the strongest city lights also provides good conditions for viewing the northern lights when the sky is clear and aurora activity is present. Northern lights sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Facilities in the cottage area include Wi-Fi, a sauna, a hot tub, a barbecue area and a grill hut suitable for smaller groups. A seaside camp with boat storage and facilities for preparing the day’s catch is also available.

Finnkroken can be reached by car or passenger ferry. Always check the current timetable and connections before travelling.
