Fjord Photo Tour

This tour is operated by NorthernShots Tours.

One of the most scenic routes through valleys and fjords, seas and lakes, white sandy beaches and iconic bridges.

A road trip you will remember forever. We might encounter reindeer, as they often wander around this area. Depending on the time of year, this trip can become a true safari through Tromsø’s best Arctic pearls. Add this “Tromsø in a nutshell” experience to your bucket list, or book it now!

Included: Small meal or snack, such as soup or an expedition meal, coffee and/or waffles/cookies, pick-up and drop-off at our shop, Roald Amundsens plass 1A
Please bring: Warm clothes, even in summer

Number of participants: Min. 4 – max. 8 by van, or max. 20 by coach

Possible stops and experiences:

Here is a list of possible, but not mandatory, stops and experiences. The tour normally stops at only 3–4 of these locations, depending on weather and road conditions.

• Crossing the bridge to the Whale Island, Kvaløya
• Possible stop along the way to the next stop, if we spot reindeer in the area
• Ersfjord – viewpoint
• Flexible stop along Kattfjordeidet
• Stop at one of the beaches with turquoise water, such as Sandneshamn, Sandviksletta, Sommarøy or another location, depending on the conditions on site
• Alternative stop at Sjøtun’s pier, with a view towards Kattfjord
• Alternative stop at the end of the road in Hillesøy, with a viewpoint towards the ocean
• Lunch, light meal, at the restaurant at Sommarøy Arctic Hotel or at an alternative location
• Return to Tromsø

Alternative route:

In case of avalanche risk in the area, road closures or if the guide considers it necessary, an alternative route with other stops may include:

• The sunken Tirpitz ship at Håkøya
• Tysnes – viewpoint
• Hella – rock carvings
• Straumbukta – idyllic old houses

In case of severe weather in the region, we may offer you an alternative route or join together with other partners in order to offer you an alternative tour.

Important information:

• This tour requires a minimum of 4 people. If we do not reach the minimum number of people, we will team up with one of our partners that runs a similar tour.
• If we still do not reach a minimum of 4 people, or if we decide to cancel due to bad weather, we will issue you a full refund.
• We aim for a maximum of 8 passengers per van. If a group exceeds this number, we will combine up to two groups, maximum 20 passengers, and use a coach.
