Guided Private Fishing Trips

General information

We offer fishing trips of different lengths and levels. Depending on your previous fishing experience and preferences, we will tailor the trip to suit you.

During our 3-hour trip, we fish in scenic Kattfjord, 35 km from Tromsø. This trip is suitable for those looking for a relaxed introduction to sea fishing. We will teach you everything you need to know, so don’t worry if this is your first time sea fishing. We can also prepare your catch if you would like to take it with you.

For more experienced and dedicated anglers, our 5- and 8-hour trips are available.

During the trips, we often encounter local wildlife, which may include whales, seals, otters, sea eagles, puffins and many other Arctic bird species.

Before the trip, we discuss which species you would like to target. The area is well known for halibut fishing, with halibut measuring more than 2 metres caught here each year. The underwater peaks and structures hold large cod and coalfish all year round, while sandy plateaus offer fishing for plaice and dab. The area also offers fishing for wolffish, haddock, tusk, ling, redfish and mackerel.

When you book a package with several trips, your group will have a dedicated skipper. This gives you the flexibility to adjust the start time according to the weather and move fishing hours between days. If, for example, you would like five days of fishing, we recommend staying for seven days so that the trips can take place on the days with the best weather.

Marine resources are not unlimited, and there are regulations for sea fishing in Norway which we follow and explain during the trip. We will also teach you how to handle your catch correctly to maintain its quality. We follow minimum and maximum size regulations and practise catch and release for vulnerable species, for example by releasing large halibut.

Boat and equipment

We use Arronet 30 SPT boats for our fishing trips, a unique boat model that we have been involved in developing ourselves. The boats are 9.4 metres long and 2.8 metres wide and are built with a focus on comfort, safety and maximum deck space for fishing.

The boats have a centre console with covered seating for shelter from the weather. They are equipped with modern Garmin chartplotters, echo sounders, radar and VHF.

The boats have 2 × 150 hp Yamaha engines, allowing us to reach the fishing grounds quickly. A portable Porta Potti toilet is available on board.

Sea fishing in Northern Norway is demanding, so high-quality equipment is essential. All necessary fishing equipment is included, and we mainly use equipment from Shimano.

Clothing is also included. Flotation suits, boots, hats and gloves are provided as needed to help you dress appropriately for the conditions.
