This tour is conducted by Tromsø Outdoor. A choice for those who are out to explore more! Immerse yourself in the wild and beautiful nature around Tromsø and experience Northern Norway at its best!

General information

The tour starts with a 40 minute drive along a scenic road on Kvaløya island. On arrival, we learn how to use the snowshoes before we start our adventure!

We hike to one of the smaller summits with majestic views over the surrounding mountains and fjords (if, of course, the weather allows!). During the hike we stop a few times for rests, photos and to share our knowledge about our region and the Arctic environment. At the summit we take a longer break is longer to enjoy a hot drink and try some delicious lefse – a local sweet snack.

The hike to the summit is just under 400 m in snowy mountain terrain so a moderate level of fitness and health is required. The tour is not suitable for guests with a heart condition or limited physical abilities.

To join this tour it is obligatory to wear warm and windproof clothes and winter boots above ankle. The weather can change rapidly - we are above the Arctic circle!

Winter clothes and boots are not included in the price of the tour but can be rented separately through our rental center.
