Explore the Lyngen Alps on an exclusive snowmobile safari through Arctic landscapes.

General information

This tour is operated by XLyngen.

With steep alpine mountains and the magical Arctic light as your companion, you will drive along fjords and mountains with fantastic views. Your experienced guide will meet you and take you on to a charming fishing village in the northern part of the Lyngen Alps. Along the way, you may spot an eagle, a fox or even a majestic moose. You will also learn more about the local history and how fishing life has shaped this area.

We keep the groups small, with a maximum of 12 people, to give you a personal experience. At XLyngen Resort, you will be provided with suitable clothing before heading out on the snowmobile tour. You ride two people per snowmobile, swap drivers along the way and get to enjoy both the driving and the fantastic photo opportunities. The trails take you up to 350 metres above sea level – a truly unique experience.

After the snowmobile safari, you will be served a homemade meal in the panoramic restaurant Bøteriet by the pier. Enjoy your meal while the Arctic landscape shows itself from its beautiful side.

Good to know:

• You must be over 18 years old and hold a valid snowmobile driving licence or car driving licence to drive the snowmobile yourself.

• The minimum age is 7 years, and children must be able to hold on to the snowmobile by themselves.

Transport to and from Tromsø is not included.

Here, you can sit back and relax with friends after a day of exploring. We serve food with a focus on local and traditional Norwegian cuisine.



After a full day of adventures, you can enjoy our steam bath and try our outdoor hot tub, which will help you relax and recover.

During the darker months, the Northern Lights season begins, with daily excursions such as snowshoe hikes, snowmobile safaris, Northern Lights tours, whale watching, dog sledding and much more.
