Join us for an unforgettable Northern Lights adventure by bus, taking you deep into the Arctic. Visit an authentic Sámi camp, meet and feed the reindeer, and taste traditional Sámi food around the fire. Along the way, you’ll hear captivating stories about Sámi culture and the mystery of the Aurora Borealis — a journey that blends nature, culture, and magic, all in one night.

Be welcomed into a traditional lavvu, warm yourself by the fire, and listen to Sámi stories passed down through generations. Taste bidos, accompanied by hot drinks that bring comfort and warmth.

Your journey:

Your adventure begins on the 3rd floor of the Full Steam, where our guide will welcome you. Here, you’ll get an introduction to coastal Sámi culture and an exhibition on the Northern Lights, before the guide gives a short briefing and the chase for the aurora begins.

What to expect:

• Guided transport from Tromsø through stunning winter landscapes

• Traditional Sámi lavvu with a fire and a warm atmosphere

• Meet and feed the reindeer – get close to the herd and create magical moments

• Cultural immersion – listen to stories and learn about Sámi reindeer herding

About Full Steam Tromsø

Full Steam restaurant was established in 2018 and is located at Bangsundbrygga in Tromsø.


Bangsundbrygga was built in 1902 as a fish factory. The building is well maintained and fits in well with what the Full Steam restaurant has to offer - story telling about the older fishing history in the Troms region as well as food based on local ingredients from the sea.



Book a table for small or large groups, festivities or events. In total, you can have a group with an à la carte menu that seats up to 120 people or a conference for 100 people. You can also book a guided tour in our museum where you can look, taste, smell and listen to this interesting history.
