1900 NOK
per person
Join a small-group Northern Lights tour from Tromsø with a local Sámi/Norwegian guide, private viewing locations, photography assistance and a warm meal.
General information
This tour is operated by Arctic Aurora Tours.
Join a Northern Lights chase from Tromsø in a small group of up to 16 guests. Your local Sámi/Norwegian guide uses current weather conditions, cloud cover and aurora forecasts to choose the route for the evening.
The tour starts at Kirkegata 2 in central Tromsø before leaving the city lights behind. Depending on the conditions, you may travel through fjords, valleys and mountain landscapes around Tromsø and Northern Norway. When clearer skies are found further away, the tour may also cross the border into Finland.
Arctic Aurora Tours has access to several private viewing locations reserved for their guests. When conditions are favourable at these locations, the group can spend the evening away from larger crowds, with access to a bonfire and toilet facilities when available.
Throughout the evening, your guide shares stories about Sámi culture, Arctic life and the coastal communities of Northern Norway. The small group size allows time to relax around the fire with hot drinks, snacks and a warm meal while waiting for the Northern Lights.
Your guide will also take photographs during the evening and can help you with camera settings if you bring your own photography equipment.
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed. If the Northern Lights do not appear during your tour, Arctic Aurora Tours offers discounted rebooking for another evening.
At the end of the tour, you will return to Tromsø, with hotel drop-off included.

About Arctic Aurora Tours
Arctic Aurora Tours is a small, locally owned company with strong roots in the region. Our guides have a close connection to the area and Sámi heritage.
Our Northern Lights tours take place in small groups, with a focus on Sámi culture, stories and traditions. When the weather allows, we visit our private location in Grøtfjord, an area with little light pollution and views of the sea and mountains. If conditions are better elsewhere, we travel to the areas that offer the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights.
Environmentally responsible operations are important to us, and we use local products and snacks whenever possible. Vegetarian options are available on request. We aim to leave a positive impression wherever we go and to work respectfully with the local communities we visit.
