General information

Join an exciting ATV safari in the Lyngenfjord region, not far from Tromsø, where you’ll drive through varied terrain, enjoy breathtaking viewpoints, and end the day with a warm meal and drink in cosy surroundings. Choose between a daytime tour with stunning scenic views or an evening tour, where you might get the chance to witness the Northern Lights dancing across the sky.

Join us for an unforgettable adventure in the spectacular nature of Northern Norway! We’ll pick you up by bus in Tromsø, and after a scenic 1 hour and 15-minute drive, you’ll arrive at North Experience Basecamp. Here, our experienced guides will welcome you and go through the safety instructions to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip for everyone.

You can choose to drive your own ATV or ride as a passenger with one of our guides. The route takes you through varied terrain with several viewpoints and photo stops, giving you the perfect opportunity to enjoy the stunning scenery and capture amazing photos.

Choose between a daytime tour offering breathtaking views in natural daylight, or an evening tour where you might get the chance to witness the Northern Lights dancing across the Arctic sky – a truly unforgettable experience.

Halfway through the tour, we’ll take a well-deserved break with hot juice and a snack before heading back to the camp. Once we return, you’ll be served hot soup, coffee and tea – the perfect way to end an adventurous day outdoors.

All necessary clothing and safety equipment are included.

This experience is suitable for everyone – no prior experience is needed, but please remember to bring a valid driving licence (Class B) if you wish to drive your own ATV.

About North Experience

North Experience offers snowmobile and ATV safaris, glass igloo stays and other Arctic experiences from its basecamp in Storfjord.


Our basecamp is located in Hatteng in Storfjord, around a 90-minute drive from Tromsø. From here, we offer experiences in the surrounding mountain and winter landscapes.



Our activities include daytime and evening snowmobile safaris and ATV safaris in the Lyngenfjord area. We also offer combined experiences where activities and accommodation can be part of the same stay.



At Aurora Basecamp, guests can stay in AuroraHut glass igloos with large windows overlooking the sky and surrounding landscape. The basecamp also has a sauna, outdoor jacuzzi, lavvu and meeting facilities.



North Experience also works with film and television productions in Northern Norway. We provide local knowledge, location support and coordination, and collaborate with Filmcamp on productions in the region.
